Draft Report on Flagship 2 Thematic Workshop on Urban Search and Rescue
Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and DPNet-Nepal jointly organized a half day national workshop on NRRC Flagship 2 programme: Urban Search and Rescue Capacity in the country Nepal. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium (NRRC) and the United Nations Office for coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Altogether 55 participants attended the workshop from 33 institutions representing a cross section of Government agencies, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, Donors, Academic Institutions and Civil Society.
Study on Earthquake Disaster Mitigation in the Kathmandu Valley
The Government of Japan, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the official implementing agency for Official Technical Cooperation, dispatched a preliminary survey team to Kathmandu in August 2000 and exchanged a Scope of Work and Minutes of Meeting with HMG. Nippon Koei Co. Ltd. and OYO Corporation were contracted by JICA to conduct this study from January 2001 to March 2002. The resulting report, "Study on Earthquake Disaster Mitigation in the Kathmandu Valley" is presented herein.
